Who we are
Glocal LifeLearn supports sustainable education initiatives to enable people whose existence is threatened by poverty to make a better life for themselves.
Glocal LifeLearn works closely with local partners. We are a global network that supports our partners in their work.
Glocal LifeLearn has been registered in Cologne, Germany, as a charitable association since 4 May 2011.
We support education!
Glocal LifeLearn sees education as the most important factor in sustainable development. A good education allows individuals to make their own decisions in an increasingly complex world. It is the key that opens the door for integration and effective participation in social and professional life.
Glocal LifeLearn supports education in many different fields, including general school education, environment, human rights and intercultural understanding.
Platform to realise ideas
We act as an intercultural platform for our members, giving them access to networks, know-how, experience and an official base. Each member has the possibility to find support to realise his or her own project ideas.
We are a small group of motivated students and young professionals from different European countries who want to make a difference. We have backgrounds in different fields, including politics, geography, economics, and peace and conflict studies. Working together for a good purpose gives us joy and strengthens our friendship. We are politically independent and non-denominational. We set a high value on transparency, and all work on a voluntary basis.
Since our foundation, Glocal LifeLearn has supported vulnerable children through our sponsorship programme, Lifeline Uganda, by paying their school fees and materials. In 2016, we are enabling 26 children to get a good-quality education.
In 2011 we equipped a school in Costa Rica with English books for English lessons.
